High levels of triglycerides in the blood simply means you have too much fat in your blood. Being at greater risk for heart disease is due to having higher levels – which you have to watch closely. The foods you eat affect the levels of triglycerides in the blood, hence the importance of a good diet. Many people having high triglyceride levels also have high blood cholesterol levels.
